Possible causes
Possible causes for the OS-Laser_Shutdown alarm are:
• RS-LOS alarm.
• Faulty STM-N optical aggregate or optical tributary.

The OS-Laser_Shutdown_Dis alarm is reported to indicate that the automatic
laser shutdown (ALS) function is disabled on all ports of the indicated PIU.
Impact
This alarm is reported against an optical port; however, the ALS function is
enabled or disabled on a card basis.
Minor alarm.
Does not affect traffic.
Consequent Action
Automatic laser shutdown will not operate on the indicated port.
